School Day
Our Classrooms
Spring of Joy currently has 37 special needs children with various disabilities, including Autism, Down syndrome, Hydrocephalus, Deafness, Dumb, Intellectual disabilities, ADHD, and Physical disabilities. Seventeen children—7 boys and 10 girls—are staying in the boarding section for a whole term, which lasts 13 to 14 weeks, while the other 20 children commute from home, where they live with their parents or guardians.
The school has four classrooms, each catering to the students‛ specifi c needs and abilities. Three of these classrooms follow the normal/national kindergarten and lower primary curriculum, while the fourth focuses mainly on behavioral, basic ADL`s, and learning household utensils such as ( plate, cup, spoon, knife, towel, etc.) and therapy, known as class trust.
Classroom Trust
This focuses mainly on behavioral training, including fi ne motor skills and coordination. It covers the least amount of academic content, i.e. counting 1 – 5 through singing, basic color identifi cation i.e. blue, yellow, red, green and Concentration training activities.
Classroom Rock
This is the introductory level among the three academically oriented classrooms. The teachers train the children how to count and identify numbers(1-5) and letters(A-D), tracing and shading activities (numbers letters), how to write their names, and basic ADL training
Classroom Fortress
This is the intermediate level. The students in Fortress engage in various academic activities ie count recognize and write numbers from 1 – 20, writing from A - Z, to support their development and prepare them to advance to the next level. Learning days of the week and months of the year, etc.
Classroom Deliverer
This is the highest level at Spring of Joy. Most students in Deliverer are pioneering students who have been with the school since its inception. These children are primarily trained in the normal national lower primary curriculum which includes adding numbers, subtracting numbers, reading simple words and stories, sign language, etc. Some of the children are trained to transition from Spring of Joy to primary schools with other children without disabilities.

Girls' Dormitory
The girls’ dormitory offers a warm and welcoming environment where our female students can feel safe, respected, and cared for. With comfortable sleeping arrangements, personal space for each child, and a caring atmosphere, the dormitory helps the girls thrive and build positive relationships with their peers.
